Around 1 in 4 drinkers in the North East are planning to take part in Dry January 2021.

The annual national campaign challenges millions of people across the country to take a month off alcohol and make the year ahead the best it can be.

It comes after all the anxieties and stresses of 2020; a year in which many people have seen their alcohol consumption increase.

Dr Sarah Louden, a Newcastle GP, has some helpful advice for anyone thinking about taking part in Dry January to break the habit of regular drinking and get their ‘you’ back.

It’s free to sign up and you can download the Try Dry app, for tips and tricks, a calorie counter and a chance to see how much you’ve saved.
